My cooling loop has a little leak. Unfortunately my recently acquired 205 (XUD7 engined) has no service history. I thought I would share the questions that have arisen, because I can't be the only one!

    1. Should I replace it, or just use a suitable short length of pipe to take it out of circuit? It lives in a colder, wetter part of the UK known as Wales. However, I don't want to invite the failure of seals elsewhere in the PS system, as I have to pay for skilled labour.

    2. Where do the flexi hoses connected to each end of the cooling loop go? Should I replace these too, they are probably the 32-year old originals? Are they just bits of pipe which I can have cut off a reel, or cunningly formed bits of pipe requiring OE replacement?

    3. Does replacing the loop and flexis involve dropping the subframe, or other labour-intensive operations? If so, I might swap out the pump too.

    TIA if you can help!
