205 Remote C/L Plip/Key

Hi,

Does anyone know of anywhere (pref UK) that can provide a remote central
locking plip/key for a Peugeot 205. It's an M Reg Mardi Gras TD and has the
old style Infrared system. I seem to remember seeing the same system on a
405 of a similar age.

Is it possible to:

1) Get hold of a new/sh/salvage plip?

2) Program a plip to the car? (there is no original plip with the car) -
i.e. it cannot be "cloned"

If you pull out the receiver inside the car, you should be able to find a
serial number located on it somewhere which identifies its 'code'. You can
then use this to order a new plip. However, they are incredibly expensive
from Peugeot and I don't know of any other suppliers. You should bear in
mind that those infra-red systems aren't very secure - my advice would be to
spend your money on a decent car alarm with remote central locking control
instead of shelling out on the plip.
