206 SW opinions?

Discussion in 'Peugeot 206' started by Bernhard Wolfgang, Jul 15, 2003.

  1. Hi,

I'm looking into getting a Peugeot 206 SW, it really looks great!
Has anyone here got one and would be kind enough to share some thoughts
    about it?

    Thanks!

    I'm you want a car that won't break down, then don't get a 206

If you want a dealer that will offer you good friendly service, then don't
    get a peugeot

I've got one (1.6) and love it.. already done +12000km in 4 months with it.

Haven't had any serious problems yet, only a few minor details
and those have been solved by the dealer without a problem
(plastic piece on bottom of car broke off (probably due to my wifes driving :),
a flat tire and yesterday the shift stick knob came loose (wasn't the original
but a chrome one the garage had fit, seems the screw wasn't tight enough)

It's really a large small car.. I use it to move pinball machines sometimes,
the 206SW was the only 'small' car in which one fits (other cars we looked at
were all larger breaks, monovolumes or 5-door jeeps).

    ciao,

    Aeneas.

You what? I've struggled to get pinball machines into Volvo v70 estates

I have a DTurbo HDi SW.

I love it - the shortlist also consisted of a Skoda Fabia Tdi. It was a
close run thing, but ultimately the 206 just had more style. The SW replaces
    a 306 1.9TD estate, but I haven't missed the space.

As for the comments by Luke over reliability, my wife had a T reg 206 1.6
GLX petrol, and it was no more problematic than any other car we've run.
Found the old 8v 1.6 engine gutless though, even in the 206 hatchback body.
The HDi suits the car very well.
