    Hi there,

I’m having some problems with my 98 Peugeot 306 1.4 it tends to rev up and
down a bit at low revs, also it cuts out when coming to a stop( traffic
light ect) I re-adjusted the accelerator cable, this seems to solve the
problem but shouldn’t the revs be more regulated? I am also aware that
this could be a problem with the mixture. I fully serviced the car when I
bought it (filters, oil, plugs ect) any ideas?

Clean the air control valve - not sure where it is on a 306 but follow the
pipes. the valve effectively allows air to bypass the throttle. it will have
one hose in, one hose out ans an electical connector on it. The ECU uses
this to controll the idle speed.
Use carb cleaner to flush it out and allow to dry before refitting.
You should find numberous references to this process in the archives of this
