Last week my wife 307 air conditionor failed to cope the the hot
weather. The temperature outside was between 34 to 37c inside the
car was well put this way very good sauna it remain this way for some
10 to 15 minutes before the air conditioner kicked in and lowered the
    temperature to a comfortable level.

Well some six months a go we hit a roo (kangaroo) damaged the
radiator pushing it back on the motor as a result of the accident has
made one or more sensor be a bit dodgy and only shown up in the hot
weather. Can anyone suggest which sensor is playing up or may the
black box a bit touch'e still it is back Paris for this time of the
year no problem in the cooler weather.

    Thanking you in advance

Try changing the ambient temperature sensor which is the senser that
tells the display panel in your car the outside temperature.

That seams Ok because the temperature shown on the display is right if
36c outside then display will shown 36, but were do this sensor fit in
with the control of the air conditionor does this sensor tell computer
which mode set to the air condition to. The car has just come back
from the dealer they just reloaded the software and we had another
very hot day and it playing up again so back to the dealer. Something
else the ecomo mode is not working.

It might be the interior temp sensor (part of the climate control).
There's a few slotted holes int he dash board...don't quite know what
this is but a good possibility.
I had a 98 Fairmont Ghia before my 307 with auto climate control and it
had a sun sensor right in the middle of the dash board which would
actually communicate with the climate control...not sure if the 307 has
something similar. I'm stuck on this one mate.

  5. Try checking that both your rad cooling fans are working as this will result
    in poor air conditioning.

The 307 was return to the dealer last week and you are righ the fan in
the front is not working. This make a lot of sense, now what is
happening when the car sit out in the hot sun the refrigerant heats
up with the fan not working hot air is blown into the car but soon as
air is forced through the condenser it start to cooling down stop at
traffic lights is start to heat up again due to the lack of air
movenent, on the open road refrigerant cooled down and things works as
    per normal.

The dealer pointed out that therr are three senser controlling the
fan. I have checked (looked) for blown fuse, fan is free not seized
(fan was replaced as the roo made a mess of it).

Stay turned for more fun and games.

    Got it

The service people had to remove headlights and bumper assmebly plus
the battery and relay/fuse box to access the wiring loom they found a
short in the fan wiring near the connector under the bumper/battery
box (what ever that is) this was repaired plus the replacement of fuse
no 18 (40amp) which is the fan fuse in the engine compartment fuse
    box.

Just one thing I glad that I did not find the blown fuse due to the
short in the wiring I may have done damage if I replaced the fuse.

All a result of hitting a roo, fan is now working and the 307 is
    running a lot better.
