    HI All,

I wonder if somebody could provide me with a bit of information.

    I have a 307S 1.6 on a 53 Plate with 20,000 on the clock.

However I am a bit confused when travelling at 70mph on the Motorway the engine
is pulling 3,400 rpm steady when I go to 80 its close to 4,000 rpm.

Is this right? Surely it should not be that high?

I am guessing as it was an ex-car rental car then maybe its been frigged to
    give a higher Gal/Mile?

When I drive the Wife's Auto 1.3 Yaris at 70 Mph this is only pulling 2,900 and
to get 4000 rpm is close to 90.

I do understand the gearing might be different but I expected a bigger engine
    to pull less RPM.

I dont dare go and appraoch the dealer and says its not right without knowing
    some facts first.

    Cheers in anticipation

    Andy.

    1. (70/3400)* 4000 = 82. So what you say about "when I go to 80 its
close to 4,000 rpm" sounds correct.

    2. (70/2900)* 4000 = 96. Therefore the statement "Wife's Auto 1.3 Yaris
at 70 Mph this is only pulling 2,900 and to get 4000 rpm is close to 90"
    sounds dodgy/misinterpreted to me.

Yes, this is normal. The 307 1.6 is quite low geared unfortunately.
