307SW Rear Screen fault

Discussion in 'Peugeot 307' started by Michael Cattell, Oct 2, 2004.

  1. Has anyone encountered a problem with the rear screen exploding out of the
307SW. It only occurrs on the SW not on the saloon, but don't know about the
    estate.
My first one did, just one month from new. Now the second one has, 9 months
    from new.
It is a known fault with the multiplex decoder but has been rectified on
cars manufactured after Jan 2004. Peugeot will not admit to the problem but
will tell you it has now been cured.
    Anyone else had any problems?

  2. I own a 307SW & I can't see how a fault within the multiplex would cause
    the rear screen to shatter!!

    Hi John !
I was going to write the same thing. Come on, that is a problem that is
*not* electronics related. There were enough of them on 307s !

it has nothing to do with the multiplex, but its a design fault from the
manufactuer Splintex, the heating module has been placed wrong and may
cause the screen to blow, they corrected the error a while ago.

  6. I was told this was a fault from the earlier 307 SW's. It seems some sort
of anti-vibration screws (?) were either missing or badly installed.
