I have attempted to replace the thermostat housing only to find the union between the housing and the pipe that runs along the back of the block to the water pump has no circlip type fastener, the end of pipe is split and I reckon someone has previously cemented the two components together, so I am faced with either abandoning the job or replacing the pipe to the water pump as well. Does anyone know how easy or not this is, along with how much dismantling is involved? Any help really appreciated in advance!

Hi, just having the same problem. I've never seen such a ridiculous set up!
Did you find out how to change the pipe without having to remove the whole engine?
