406 1998 Cuts Out

My 1998 406 1.8l cuts out after about 2 miles every time I drive it - does
anyone know why this happens and how can I fix it? Is this common?

My 406 is a 1.8 petrol and has done 95,000 miles, but has been well
serviced - no other problems.

needs map sensor (contaminated and rotten) and stepper motor (sick of
trying to cope<they do work hard you know)
