406 Headlamp Sensor

    Hi guys
    Does anyone know the location of the headlamp light sensor (or a way of
    disabling it) on the 406 HDI saloon (02 plate).My headlights come on in all
    but the sunniest days and I'm wondering if it needs a clean.

    If it's the same as the 206 it on the windscreen just behind the mirror
    (rectangular area with a slight purple tinge). It should be kept clear by
    the wipers. Sounds like a visit to the dealers.

    The way to disable it on the 206 is to turn the ignition so that just the
    battery light is on and press and hold the button on the end of the
    indicator stalk (should have auto on it with a filled arrow pointing to the
    steering column) until you hear a beep. Just do the same to reactivate it
