Would fitting a black bonnet to my silver pug 205 make it run hotter ...
    colder or no different ...?

    Thanks

Most likely sod all different, they are hardly a hot-running car.

If it was a big turbocharged powerplant it would make it slightly cooler
unless it was a hot day, then it might run slightly hotter.

It'll BE hotter! GO FOR IT!!! :p
I think it will go faster too !!!
And if you park the car in the sun, the engine will reach working temp a
    bit quicker ...

Frikkin expensive (and usually as heavy if not heavier). TBH, unless you are
dragging every last little pony from your motor at major revs, the standard
cooling system will be well within its upper limits anyways, so whats the
point if you dont mind me asking?

    Hi,
    Not different, I think.
OK, that's a common statement to consider black heat sinks 20% more
performant than non-painted (raw alloy) heat sinks, but here we are
    considering a bonnet.
IMHO, a bonnet's colour has no influence on cooling. Anyway, standard
insulation under the bonnet avoids the engine to be warm, even under a hard
    sun.
Test it : park your car under a hard sun, wait for the engine to cool down
(a couple of hours should do the trick on a GTi), put your hand on the
bonnet. Warm, really warm like hell.
Open the bonnet, put your hand on the head. Cold.

    My conclusion : no influence.
Oh, I do prefer Gran Turismo 2, played by a Dremcast :)

Don't know, but it is likely to make people ask you for a lift home late on
a Friday night - careful they don't throw up in the back, though!
