Brakes 406 1.9 TD with ABS

    My brakes have started to feel spongy. When bleeding this system are there
    any special precautions. I guess the fluid need changing as it was last done
    4 years ago.

    Have you had the discs and pads changed in that time? 406 is notorious for
    fast wear on front D&P's which would contribute to spongy feel.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
    Car has done 65K since new and still on same set of pads( I don't break very
    hard or carry heavy loads). Last time I looked a few months ago they were
    not even half worn but the vented disks were getting down towards the wear
    limit (2Mil from new figure).
    I was going to check each wheel for pad or shoe wear after the holiday and
    bleed the cylinders at the same time.
