hi ..engine size 14/18/20 fule type?????...the more info the better the
help lots of crys for help in here with no info.....
hard to explane were it is so just follow wires that goes to intake your
find it but before you go buying a part to sort this prob any one of the
sensors could make car act up like this could be air filter /vacuum
leak/faulty gapped spark plugs/timing belt could replace parts and still
have prob and an empty pocket..so get it hooked up to a comp and find out
for sure cos no way of repairing steppers or sensor parts all sealed units
so why take them out if your not sure if its at fult as all sensors linked
to ecu and car will not run right minus a sensor so cant really repair car
    by elimanation

hi the engine is a 1.6 multi point injection i had a look for the stepper
motor i found thr pontimeter and a sensor that goes into the under side of
the throttle linkage but goes into a blank (doesnt actually go threw to the
inside)but still cannot find stepper motor .

i heard it could be clean with brake cleaner may solve the problem just
thought i give every thing a good clean before having to spend a small
    fortune

hi ..look again it's there on the throttle housing assembly
near the pontimeter maybe even that so called sensor you found could be
it cant think of any sensor that should be there ... the stepper is the
idle speed controler and doesnt need to go threw throttle housing just
needs small hole very small so maybe you didnt see it or hole blocked ???
and o yeah make sure you use a little wd40 after brake cleaner because
brake cleaner will dry out stepper and it may stick

the one that i took off was under the pontimeter and was held in by one
screw when it came out it was a brass piston very clean brass piston
mounted on a spring the recess it went into was also very clean but there
was no hole going threw into the throttle housing i thought to myself at
the time thats pointless it doesnt do anything unless it heats up

it also has a rubber seal on it

i took the trottle housing off but there was not a hole connecting, that
what make me think its not stepper motor

i was expecting it to be carboned up
