fuel heater on turbo diesel

    Hi guys, in the base of the fuel filter is what appears to be a fuel heater. On the outside is a small white knob/indicator . I can remember reading some where??? That this is a summer / winter selector. There are no markings on the filter housing and I can find no reference to it in the Haynes manual, I just need to know which way to point it for winter. (I'm downunder in Oz).
