    Hello,
I suppose that differential in my car (Peugeot 605 3.0 12V, 1990 year)
is damaged, because I hear clatters from there. I would like to
dissasemble this differential, but I don't know how to do fast and
    easily. So my qustions are:
    1. Do I need to remove all gearbox with clutch cover, or can I do this
    repair under car?
2.Could You give me an instruction (the best for me is to obtain"step
by step" instruction), what should I do.
    3. Do I need an inspection pit, or it isn't necessary?

I have schema from EPC, so I think it will be usefull.

    Best regards, Gregory Jakubowski
    ps.
    sorry for my poor english.

When I drove, in one second I heard clatters, and try stop so fast as
it was possible, the sound of clatters was the same all time. next in
my garage I lift up front of the car, remove wheels and:
    1. I lock one brake plate, and rotate another (and vice versa) in both
cases I heard the same clatters, so I think that driveshafts are OK?
    2. When I shift transmission in neutral position, and engine work, I
    don't hear this clatters.
    3. When I push clutch pedal (engine is stop) and I rotate brake plate
(like in point 1.) I hear clatters in all gears (1..5,reverse, and
neutral position), so I suppose that gearbox is OK?
    3. When I rotate brake plate very slowly, I don't hear clatter but I
fell avarage resist, and when I start rotate faster this transform in
clatters, one clatter for half rotate brake plate, not exactly because
this clatter is move 1/4 rotate for 7 rotates brake plate, I hope You
    understand me :)

    Best regards, Gregory Jakubowski

ps. sorry for my poor english again

Ok to remove gearbox and differential is not that easy with the V6.

In the engine bay remove everything that is blocking acces to the bolts of
    the clutch housing.
That is battery and the plastic holder and everything connected to it...

    Remove both wheels and driveshafts.

    Remove starter engine

You probably have to remove the subframe holding the engine.
That means you have to support the engine with a lift.

The complete thing can be removed at the left front of the car.

It is also heavy so be carefull.

It is along time ago for me I have done this job on the V6.

Again it is not so easy because there isn't a lot of space to work on it.

There are also people who take out complete engine I don't know what is more
    easy...
