Does anybody know if the idling problem mentioned yesterday gets solved by
    having a stronger battery??

I have the idling problems where the revs bounce between 750 and 2000 revs.
The cars also stalls at time to time due to revs and to be blunt "its doing
    my fucking head in".

Sounds as though it could be a number of things, first I would check your
air filter. (take it out altogether and start the car) see if that makes any
difference, another cause could be a sticking choke butterfly or mechanism
(try a SMALL amound of WD40 on the choke mechanism, springs etc) or it could
possibly be a gasket blown on your carb allowing sudden gasps of air into
the air/petrol mixture causing it to rise and fall dramatically.
    hope that helps

do you thik that would be the gasket blown??

If so how much would this cost to replace/repair??

More likely the idle control valve/stepper motor. £70 new. Take your's off
    and clean it. Sometimes helps.
    Common fault.
