I dont suppose anyone her knows why the hell peugeot didnt put a keyhole on
the boot of my W reg 206 xs?

When my keyfob central locker thing dies I guess ill put a sign up saying
    'boot locked, honest'

I had the same problem with my R reg 306. With a flat (car) battery, I could
lock and unlock the doors manually but could not lock the boot

I guess you have to ask yourself how often a 206 has a flat battery.

  4. The Hatchbacks must be different to the saloons in that respect then, my
wife's S reg 306 saloon has a boot lock keyhole positioned in the opening
button exactly the same as my 406.

I think the change happened after the S reg, my 307 SW also has no key
facility in the boot, neither did the previous 2001 Xsara estate.
The boot lock is now all electrical, and on the Xsara, the problem was
unlocking the tailgate when the wire to it had broken by the hinge. Ended up
unbolting the lock catch from the floor of the car to open it, and only then
could I get at the wiring.
I note the 307 has a little hole in the locking plate into which you can
insert a small screwdriver to release the catch.

Isnt it just a farce though for such a poxy thing. Even the simplest door
has a keyhole, ive heard of saving effort but im afraid doors should have
keyholes theres no two ways around it.

Because it has remote central locking. You don't ever need to use the keys !
    ....have to replace it.
