New 307 exhaust mod - what is it?

Our 307's been to the dealer six times, as you may have read before, for the
    exhaust to be fixed.

The last time was to fix the 'squeak'. Which seemed to resolve all the
issues. But now, the dealer's phoned us, out of the blue, to offer a new
fix, and wants the car back for the seventh time. They must be missing it.
They haven't seen it for at least four weeks.

This is a bit odd. But we've noticed a new noise from the front end (a
clunk) which seems to happen on the overrun. I wonder if that's the problem
that the dealer seems to have anticipated. Anybody else had this? Slightly
reluctant to let them near it in case they make it worse.

It seems that although they fitted a new bracket last time, it will
ultimately fail and lead to a recurrence of the original problem, so we are
getting the newest kind of bracket that will, they claim, fix this problem
    once and for all.

A stray pheasant yesterday proved that the hazard lights come on when the
EBA kicks in. The 307's brakes really are superb. From 60mph to zero,
apparently instantly, with no tyre squeal, no lurching, no fuss. It's not
    all bad.
