peugeot 307 remote key locking

    Hi I'm new ere hi and hello .I have a 2007 peugeot 307 with a strange remote problem the car only locks when I'm either sat in the driving seat or hold the remote key close to the quarter window on drivers door .I have changed the remote battery and now I'm stuck any advice would be appreciated
