Peugeot 405 STDT 1993K - Clutch problems

Discussion in 'Peugeot 405' started by davrosbeesley, Apr 8, 2005.

  1. I have a 405 K Reg 1.9 STDT
Its done 140k and had regular oil changes (every c.6000 miles) and
    cambelt (c 30-35k)

Ever since i bought it 4000 miles and 6 months ago, it has had a
rattle when the clutch is too the floor, and gear changes are
particularly crunchy compared to other 405 turbo diesels i have
    driven.

Shortening the clutch rectifies the problem for a short while (about a
    month) but then it reappears.

Any ideas on howto fix the problem, but if it entails a new clutch
(which is £250-£300 fitted) i will just shorten the clutch again and
    sell it on

    cheers in advance
