Peugeot Diagnosis

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by SnoopGroggyGrog, Mar 18, 2006.

  1. Hello again!

I am thinking of downloading some diagnosis tools for my 206,
(freediag). Do Peugeot use their own specific codes in addition to the
EOBD II standard, or do they just use EOBD II?

    Thanks

They use EOBD II std codes for RPM and DTC, but all other sensors data
    are under a proprietary procol.

I read DTCs with a ELM scan bought on EBay (34 euro) and OpenDiag.

  4. Ok.

What hardware do I need? The ELM scan that you bought off Ebay, is there
a particular name I should be looking for on Ebay?

    Thanks again!

They have also a USB version.

and I use it with my notebook, with a serial-USB 1.1 adapter.

Be aware that the only data you can see from a Peugeot OBD are engine
rpms and DTCs... everything else (MAF, calculated load, FTs etc) is
encoded and you need a peugeot scanner to see 'em :(

Of course, you can also turn off that darn MIL :D
