Does anyone know if the Peugeot Patner is imported to USA? Are parts
available in USA for this car?I need a part for a partner being used by my
son in missionary work in the Comoros. Can any one help me. He needs a
locking mechanism for his 2001 Partner sedan. Hard to get in that location
and costs an arm and a leg to get it from France via a dealer who does not
know what he's doing! Help please and I being very grateful!

Owning a Partner 1.9D myself and being very happy with it (Netherlands), I
was very surprised to read that dealer in France does not know what he's
    doing...
I suppose you already found the information below?

Automobiles Peugeot has sold vehicles in the USA from 1959 to 1992, mostly
    403, 404, 304, 504, 604, 505 and 405. It is represented by Peugeot Motors of
America, Inc , which maintains an inventory of replacement parts and
documentation necessary for the maintenance or repair of the most recently
sold vehicles and provides technical support
to a network of service points in the USA and Canada.

Automobiles Peugeot does not manufacture vehicles that conform to current
United States regulations. For this reason it is unfortunately impossible
for anyone to import a Peugeot model into the USA . Should anybody attempt
to do so, the vehicle will be blocked at the port of arrival and will not be
allowed to be operated in the USA and Canada.

As of this date, Automobiles Peugeot has no plan for resuming the sales of
its vehicles in the USA or Canada.

    Hi,
For front doors there are many many models (from 2002 parts CD-ROM I find 10
types of barrels (5 for left, 5 for right side)).

Try to find it at a local dealer, I'm pretty sure they're made by Valeo. I
guess he doesn't care if he has an extra key at his keyring.

    HTH,

  4. I need to clarify my message. The part I need is the locking mechanism for
the gas cap - not for the doors. Sorry about misleading anyone in this info.
    Thanks for you help.

  5. Can you perhaps get a third party locking cap that would do. The type
where turning the key releases the top and bottom halves so that the exposed
portion of the cap just turns when you try to open it. It would mean
carrying an extra key but that is better than nowt. Your local friendly
accessory shop may be able to help.
