Just looked at the wheel alignment figures for a 306 on this site, and it
says that for power steering the figure is + (toe out) and for non power
steering it is - (toe in). This is the opposite to what Haynes says. Also
figures for all the other models on the peugeotlogic site are the opposite
way round - toe in for power steering.
Anyone care to guess which is right?

On Auto data disc it says PAS is toe in and non PAS is toe out, you
always get a tolerance anyway - most of the Ford stuff is Parallel +
or - so many degrees, it also depends on how worn steering and
suspension parts are etc , front wheel drive cars like the 306 tend to
toe in slightly under acceleration and rear wheel drive cars tend to
toe out slightly under acceleration, if it was me i would set it up at
parallel and run it for a few miles and then inspect the tyres for
    wear and adjust accordingly !

Thanks for that, it confirms what I thought would be the answer.
