please help, car wont start, intank pump

    hi, need some help with my little pug please,
    its a 52 plate 206 2.0 hdi 5 door, (YB52 ZRG) STARTING PROBLEMS)
    right here we go, from what i can work out its something to do with the wireing from the intank pump, its intermitant, sometimes i turn the ignition on and you can hear the pump kick in and car will start and drive fine, other times i turn ignition on and cant hear the pump so know the car wont start (and it dont)it turn over but wont fire, ive changed the pump but still the same, ive connected the pump direct to a battery and it works fine so tipping its got something to do with wireing but aint a clue where to start on them line as cant seem to trace wires, any idea what else it could be and how can i do further checks, its got me beat now and not starting more than it is now
