Pug 106 Diesel '99

Discussion in 'Peugeot 106' started by jel183 \(UK\), Aug 23, 2003.

  1. 10,000 miles ago my dealer said my front pads were getting a bit low - I
declined to get them changed - I still havn't had any sort of warning light
come on to indicate that my pads were near the limit - and my brakes are
fine - should I trust the warning light or get them changed?

Why not check them yourself? Assuming the dealer wasn't bull-shitting
you, then they could be getting very close, and when you hear the
dreaded metallic noise, it is usually too late.

    Hi,
As said Nigel, check & see. My best advice would be to not trust the light :
it sometimes never comes on even if you're braking on metal !

Do you know, I was going to ask whether the pads were actually fitted
with sensors. I know some were and some weren't. Even more reason to
    check them!

take it to a kwik fit type place where they do free brake checks. you can
always say no money/time etc book it in and i'll come back if they are too
pricey to fit the new pads and just never return or cancel.
