    Back again sorry

NS Front electric window will go up but not down, if i pull the plug
to the motor I get +12.5v across the 2 pins switch up

and only -0.5v when switch down

The motor checks out ok, and the switch seems to be working ok
    (minimal resistance when switched)

The window wont work on either the passenger or drivers switch

all other windows and elec sunroof work ok

are there any control relays anywhere? stumped

LOL, how ironic. Exactly the same car (406 W reg). My passenger window
could only be opened (but not closed) from the drivers side control and only
closed (not opened) from the passenger controls. Now it does not go up or
down from either control! Just another example of Pugeot electrics......
time to go and look at my sender unit.... see if i can fix my fuel
    gauge...... enough said.

I had the same problem. When passenger switch is in 'neutral' then the
grey wire 6062 should provide the earth circuit from the driver's
switch. Check that the 6062 wire connectng the two switches is not
broken. If it is fine then there is a fault in the driver's switch
    unit.

If you do not want to replace the unit then cut the 6062 at the
driver's switch and link to the yellow and green earth wire. This will
mean that the passenger can open and close window but the driver can
only open the passenger's window and not close it ..................

I am struggling with the air con system. You had a similar problem I
believe. Clutch engages in compressor if provided with power and air
con works fine but when connected normally clutch doesn't click in.
There is a circuit between the pink and greyish wire that connects
direct to compressor when a/con on but only 2mAmps............??

    Any suggestions?

Broken wires in the cannon conector which goes from the door into the
car is a common cause of this.

    Halford,

well thats sorted my passenger window. there is connectivitity on both
sides of 6062 so i assume that it is a faulty door unit. Anyway have joined
together the two wires and that will do for now.

with regard to your air con, i still have not managed to get mine working.
My clutch engages when I press the A/C button and this also causes the fan
to come on. the problem I have is no cold air comes into the car and it is
not a gas problem. i am thinking that it may be the condensor or the
evaporator but do not know how to test either of these.

Let me know if you get yours sorted..... i could really use A/C at the
moment but fear the cost of a specialist!

    Thanks again,
    Ol

On another note..... you have me thinking about my air con now. (406 W reg
    yr 2000)

My car went in for it's timing belt and water pump changing, which thinking
about it is roughly when the air con stopped. Now i know that they had to
drain the radiator and cooling system to do the belt and water pump. Could,
by any remote chance, the reason my air con does not function is that the
garage have used no, or highly inadequate, coolant or antifreeze?

Car is going for service next week and so will tell them to renew coolant if
    this is a possibility.

    TIA

I can't see it being either the evaporator or the condensor as such.
There's nothing to work! They may leak but that's about all. Maybe the
pressostat, which is on the condensor--lower O/S, or the expansion
valve--where the pipes go through the bulkhead to the evaporator.

  9. Hi,
I have just had the same problem with the drivers side and it has now been
    traced.
It is not a relay that you have access to, unfortunately and sadly it is
the drivers side window regulator that is the cause of the problem. This
window regulator contains an electronic control module that operates all
of the window controls. It is not available as a seperate part and the
Peugeot part is £152. 40 inclusive. You can find second hand ones if you
    use 'findapart'on http://www.breakeryard.com as I did.
Hope that it is of help to you

Thanks for all your help on the windows, checked the wires and waggled
the cannon / door connectors, no joy.

have since removed the drivers side door switch unit and took it apart
(not for the faint harted) lots of little bits fall out (switch seats)
initial reaction is OH NO, but trust me if your carefull it is quite
    easy to put back together,

Without a wiring diagram its very hard to trace whats what, but I was
lucky and found a dry joint near to the passenger window switch, a big
blob of solder and yippee my window is now working again.

Thanks again for your interest in this thread
