OK so you have a 405 XUD9 4 door saloon with non-metallic paint. With
Power steering, without ABS brakes, with a sunroof, and tinted glass
all round, electirc front windows, no air con and simple central
    locking.

    You need a 515G3. Diameter 156mm 6 ribbed belt.

Do you want it? How we gonna do this? I live in Gloucester and you
live in Addlestone. I could send it to you though I have no idea how
much the postage would be at the moment. Cost of the part is around
    £95 including VAT.

As for the steering gaiters. Yes the O/S is easy. I do recall doing a
N/S one years ago and it was hell. I used the peugeot boot and after
much cussing and swearing managed to stretch it over the ram fixing.
Not a job I would want to do as a cobble!

Hold on Nigel.A mate of mine said he might have one in his shed which
he got for his 405 2 years ago, just got to check it out first to see
if it will fit , the car was the same as mine so if i keep my fingers
    crossed it might fit.
so the pass side is a pain to fit. no easy way of doing it?that ram
    bolt sticks out some way.

No easy way that I know of. I do remember that the boot was very tight
over that fixing, and I think I used a hot air gun to warm it up and
keep it flexible. I guess a hairdryer would do too.

  5. Difference is that this is Chris's own car. I find the same thing, people
come to me for a solution to a computer problem and I fix it every time, but
if something goes wrong with mine..............
