Dos anybody know is there a relay for a petrol pump on a pug 106, the
pump dos not pulsate when we give it a 12volt supply.the person pluged
a test meter into the main power and it works then gos off, so if any
person could help this person they would love to get the car back on
the road as she needs it too take the kiddies to school.

  2. Whats the year and cc of the car ??.. If the main power you mean the feed
(disconnected) is there AND you have a good earth then the pump must be u/s.
Believe it or not you can have 12v and a open circuit! either via a bad earth
OR no current flow(resistence). The best way to check fuel pump operation is
current flow /oscilloscope as current flow without voltage is impossible...
    regards mark

  4. Most of the time (thats why i need cc and year mate) the relay is situated
underneath the engine e.c.u. its called a double relay as it controls fuel
    pump/ignition/ amongest other things ...mark

I think it is a Nreg and its asmall engine 1,1 so its under the e.c.u

  6. Thats it mate usually brown. But if you have a feed there at least it means
its switching!(even though it may not be switching 12 v in some cases).. all

box.the one that gos to the pump and they had 12volts with inj turned
on.then it droped off still with inj on.so to me it sounds li8ke the
    relay?

  8. Going off what you say the relay sounds ok as its working then switching off
(to prime system). But its not the best location to test at the fusebox for
all the tester knows you may well have a open circuit from the fuse box to
the pump! (chances are you probably won't) you must always test at the pump.
After all it takes 2 secs to flip the seat up to get to it... mark
