    Hi,

My 206 is going in for a repair soon (under warrenty), when I booked
it in at a Peugeot dealer they asked me whether I would like a free
safety check, I said that as long as it didnt delay the repair then it
    didn't matter.

My question is, how honest are they with this check? is it a way of
extracting more money from me (presumably all items would be
considered 'wear and tear'). Has anyone else any good / or bad things
    to say about these checks.

Excuse my paranoia, but when it was offered to me, I couldn't help
thinking that you do not get anything for free!

    Thanks

    David

Go read the forum at this site www.peugeot.206.btinternet.co.uk it tells of
how if you have a service the dealers are not allowed to warn you of
warranty work that will be needed unless it is safety critical, so rather
than repair a fault free the will hopefully wait till it fails completely
out of warranty. how dodgy is that.
I would trust what these guys say as they announced this recall thing over a
    week ago.

  4. Hi,
Regarding any activity of car dealers that could involve some payment, you
must be cautious as if you would be stepping into a snakes nest! As a
consequence it is advisable to ask that they perform a check and give you
before "reparing" anything some kind or repair list for your approval.
Peugeot is a very profitable compagny ... this means that they first always
look for pouring money from their customers ...
    Good luck!

A free safety check is just that. Free. You don't have to take the
advice of the garage about anything they say is wrong.
