    Warning
Speed bumps/humps destroy lower wishbone bushes and ball joints,
I am on my second set within 3 years,
My 405 went 140,000 miles in 7 years without a problem, but as soon as the
bumps went in round my area, I am fitting new bushes every 18 months,

The are aptly named "Traffic Calmers"
I have yet to find one that does just that,
To most drivers they are a inconvenience, to some they are a challenge to
centralise the car for a smooth clearance,
To mums on the school run they don't exist !! the impact helps shake the
crumbs and crisps off the back seat, ;-)

A friend of mine had to stop going to Tesco in Stroud because his kit
car couldn't negotiate the speed bumps.

  5. And some householders near where I live are cursing them because a lot of
lorries and buses use the road and houses are being damaged by the shock
(cracks in walls and concerns about foundations). Likewise they had to
remove them from a nearby High Street because the emergency services refused
    to drive along it.

I understand that one council recently removed them and actually reduced
    accidents as a result.
