Hi all, I have a 1999 306 1.4 lx, on which I have recently changed the radiator and bottom hose and replaced the coolant due to the seal rusting. When I start car after not running it for a while, I get a very loud sloshing and rushing sound (sounds like its coming from the dashboard) when I first rev the engine. After a couple minutes or so the sound dies down and no it longer sloshes when I press the throttle. I have had no overheating problems, the coolant level is fine and I have attempted to bleed the coolant system several times (with the interior heating turned to the max). Here's what I think might be happening: There is air in the coolant system. As the car is left for a while, the air rises to the top (to the heater matrix or whatever's in the dashboard). When I start the car, the sloshing sound is the heater matrix filling with coolant from the pump, hence the increase in sloshing when I rev the engine. Eventually the air in the system is evenly distributed and the sound goes away. This is entirely a theory and just what I've come up with from searching online. Am I right, and if so how do I fix this? Is there another bleed point somewhere (currently only aware of the one on the radiator), or do I have to open up the dashboard to get to the heater matrix? I could also be completely wrong, so feel free to hit me with other theories. Thanks!
